THE HISTORY

Past. Present. Future.

Built in the 1930s, the Turf has been a constant fixture in Fargo, ND. It opened as the Hasty Tasty, with servers on roller skates. The back downstairs bar was added after the 1957 Tornado tore the roof off. Pete Sabo took over ownership in 1988, the second owner in it's long standing history. The now-infamous fire happened on July 22, 2016 and the long anticipated rebuilt and reopening was underway.

The Turf is proud to have risen from the ashes in May 2018, and has made sure to keep the small-town bar feeling that you have known and loved. You'll recognize the downstairs tables and bar, full of carvings dating throughout the years, they've been beautifully restored to keep the charm. The upstairs is a new addition using a vintage mahogany bar from Frank's Place, a historical bar in Virginia, Minnesota,

Still offering nightly drink specials, friendly staff, and the same great food you remember, we can't wait to welcome you back!
